Tim is a published poet and a founder member of The Puzzle Hall Poets, some of his work being featured on the groups CD Ephemera. Although his poetry work takes a back seat to the music he has found time to work on projects like Shopping Early for the Next Century for which he set himself the task of writing one hundred poems to reflect the voices of the 20th century. The show was performed on a couple of occasions, and condensed for a much repeated radio programme of the same name. Tim can be booked for poetry readings, or commisioned to write poetry for any occasion. Contact shown below. Tims first major commitment to drama, following a couple of stints with Dewsbury Mummers and Sowerby Bridge Mummers, was upon joining Third Theatre in 1990. Although working primarily as musician and composer with the group his commitment with the company involved minor acting parts in the productions, playing a busker in Dispossessed and the Porter in Macbeth, in which he improvised around the text in the way that Shakespeare had used the scene as a comedic break while the main cast changed out of the bloody costumes. He also played an old jazz musician, in Whistling in the Dark, and a retired soldier in Tales of the High Toby. The final Third Theatre production will take place in France in 2007, but in the meantime Tim has played a farmer in the Third Theatre film St Agnes Eve, which involved location shooting in Iceland. He also played Robert Clarke, founder of Clarkes whistles in the Anglia TV film Clarkes Penny Whistle and has appeared in Playing the Field, Where the Heart Is and The Final Soloution, a Film on Four production featuring Suggs from Madness. Tim has done a number of drama workshops, using the physical theatre techniques of Third Theatre, at various places with various age He recently worked on 'Love and Petrol', a play by Alice Nutter, ex of Chumbawumba and in 2007 will be directing a play about the Merthyr Tydfill riots of 1831.
