'Why is a Mouse When it Spins?'

'Well you asked me to do one and so I did. The live album. If you were there you'll be a little confused. That's because there were technical problems with 'No Amnesty!', The Secret Morris Team and the melodeon and fiddle tune sets. With them off the list the order was unbalanced so shuffled the rest a little. Still stops half way through, still ends on the right two songs and the encore's still the encore.

My thanks to everybody at the historic folk club, The Topic, for allowing me to record my gig with wires and desks and mictophones everywhere. It was recorded at The Melbourne, an amazing large pub with incredible woodwork and etched glass. The landlord, Brother Eamon, had a love of music which saw a great deal of people playing all sorts of music. Sadly, when Eamon retired in early 2005 the pub shut and The Topic moved operations to The Cock and Bottle, a pub where I ran a folk club in the late 70's, early 80's. Let this album act as a tribute to Eamon, The Melbourne and all the music that went on there.
